How to Make a Selection Using Pen Tool in Photoshop
Hello everybody, today is beautiful day because we will
learn about Adobe Photoshop. In this post, you will learn about photoshop tutorials
for beginners. Do you have ever make selection using pen tool in Photoshop? With
pen tool, we can make a selection to the selected image.
- Allright, now we will learn to make a selection using pen tool. First, open your Adobe Photoshop.
- Make a new document with 500 pixels of width and 350 pixels of height. For the background, use default background or white background.
- Import an image to the document. In this section, I will use Nicole’s Photo. But, you can use another image you like.
- You can see the photo was too big for the document. Transform the image with Edit > Free Transform or Ctrl + T. Tips: To make the best transform, click and drag in the corner of the image but make sure you are pressing Shift button.
- Don’t forget to Rasterize layer.
- After that, select pen tool. But, please choose Paths for pen mode. Look at the picture for detail.
- Now you can start to make a selection. Click on the border line of the image. Tips: To make curve line, you can click and hold the mouse and then move the mouse. Look at the picture for example.
- You must end you selection with click on first selection. It means that you must patch your first node with the end node.
- To make a selection, press Ctrl + Enter. Now your image was selected by dotted line.
- You can delete the useless part of the image. But, remember that the component in the dotted line is the selected component. To inverse the selection, you can go to Select > Inverse or Ctrl + Shift + I
- To deselect choose Select > Deselect or press Ctrl + D
Now you can use pen tool for make a selection. To make better
selection, you can enlarge the image. Allright, I hope this tutorial useful for
